Congolese Awareness Event

congo2The Congolese Anti-Poverty Network is hosting a Congolese Awareness Event on Thursday 26th November 2009. The event will take place in Wynns Hotel, Lr. Abbey St. Dublin 1 between 6.00pm – 10.00pm.

The aim of the event is to bring together Irish and Congolese individuals and organisations to discuss- and better understand- the current situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the integration of Congolese young people in Ireland and to strengthen the relationship between Ireland and the DRC. As the event is also linked with the 16 Days of Action Opposing Violence Against Women, the CAPN calls for the elimination of all forms of violence against women.

Speakers at the event include Vincent Browne, Journalist & Broadcaster, Pierrot Ngadi, Chairperson -CAPN and Florence Boloko, Congolese woman gender champion.
